A caminho do RJ, Eike diz que não fará delação: ‘Estou me entregando’

Considerado foragido pela Polícia Federal, o empresário Eike Batista embarcou no aeroporto JFK, em Nova York, na noite deste domingo (29), por volta das 21h45 (horário de Brasília) com destino ao Brasil. No caminho até o local de embarque, questionado pela reportagem se iria se entregar, apenas sorriu.

Já na área interna do aeroporto, reservada aos passageiros que aguardavam a chamada de seu voo, o 973 da American Airlines, o empresário concedeu uma entrevista à TV Globo, exibida pelo “Fantástico”. “Estou voltando, vou responder à Justiça, como é o meu dever.”

“Meu sentimento é que tem que se mostrar o que é. Está na hora de passar as coisas a limpo”, afirmou Eike.

Ele afirmou ainda que nunca pensou em fugir para a Alemanha -Eike tem dupla nacionalidade. “Sempre venho a Nova York a negócios.”

Eike foi o principal alvo da Operação Eficiência, deflagrada pela Polícia Federal, na quinta-feira (26). Quando a ação estourou, ele estava fora do país. Seus advogados negaram, na ocasião, que ele tivesse fugido.

O empresário foi declarado foragido e teve o nome incluído na lista de difusão vermelha da Interpol (alerta internacional de foragidos).

Ele teve a prisão decretada depois que dois doleiros fizeram acordos de delação com a Operação Lava Jato no Rio e contaram que ele pagou US$ 16,5 milhões de propina ao ex-governador do Rio Sergio Cabral, que está preso.

O dinheiro teria sido depositado no Uruguai em contas movimentadas por operadores de Cabral. A operação foi justificada, segundo os investigadores, com a simulação da compra e venda de uma mina de ouro.

Antes de embarcar de volta ao Brasil, neste domingo, Eike caminhou tranquilamente pelo terminal 8 do JFK. Ele chamou a atenção de outros passageiros brasileiros que estavam no local e chegaram a tirar fotos do empresário, que não se mostrou apressado ou nervoso.

A reportagem do Fantástico ainda perguntou sobre a possibilidade de delação por parte de Eike. Ele negou. “Não. Estou me entregando”, disse ele, que deve desembarcar no Rio de Janeiro por volta das 10h30 desta segunda-feira (30).

Eike carregava apenas uma mala de mão e não enfrentou filas para fazer o check in. A cada pergunta feita pela reportagem, respondia apenas com sorrisos. Como mostrou a Folha de S.Paulo, pessoas próximas ao empresário diziam que ele estava disposto a se entregar à PF desde que não tivesse que ir para uma prisão comum -ele temia correr risco de vida.
